Benefit from having veterans at the helm

Who we are

We run a tight ship, led by owner Ben Koppenhoefer, a veteran of the air conditioning trade who launched Elite Marine Air Conditioning in 2004. Ben’s commitment to an outstanding work ethic has led to him personally hand-picking all technicians, service managers, and administrative personnel to ensure they carry out the company’s best practices for doing a superb job every time.

What’s more, Ben has created a company culture that fosters long-term employee and customer loyalty.

To provide the highest quality service by exceeding customers’ expectations and by engaging in transparent communications at every turn.

  1. What's Elite Marine all about? It's hard to tell from the name.

Even though the word elite is somewhat of a generic term, it describes the high standards that drive everything we do.

We’re an air conditioning and water maker company that’s focused on providing the very best customer service, backed by our extensive industry knowledge and quality workmanship.

  2. There are a lot of companies in the industry that do what you do. Why should super yacht and sport fishing owners choose Elite Marine Air Conditioning?

Simply said, we know the industry. And our work proves it.

Focused on the health and safety of your guests and crew, we take a cost-effective approach to every job, employing our unique quality assurance process that ensures we perform everything by the book.

Our specialty is chilled water refits, but no matter what kind of A/C system you have, we’ve likely worked on it. In addition, we design and install equipment for great reliability and ease of service. We’re also a master dealer for Marine Air equipment and a long-time Cruisair dealer.

We’re remodeling our new location to make room for a huge amount of inventory and we’re launching our parts department to give our dealers and customers a convenient location to source parts and equipment. (Leaving this here as not sure if client will want to use it.)

  3. Are Elite Marine and Spot Zero related?

Yes, they are! We took our years of experience with reverse osmosis desalination and created the Spot Zero fresh water reverse osmosis systems. This industry-leading solution eliminates the problems that dock water supplies impose on yacht finishes.

When the popularity of the process began skyrocketing in 2010, we separated the two entities to form Elite Marine and Spot Zero.

  4. Tell us more about your technicians.

Our service manager is Jack Robinson, a retired U.S. Navy engineer who specializes in air conditioning, refrigeration and engine room operations. He directs two senior technicians who oversee Elite Marine and daily tasks.

Every senior technician has more than 10 years in the marine industry. We have a lead installer who directly supervises medium-sized projects and all new installations. His workmanship is almost an art form. Additionally, our fabricator who prepares products for refitting, is a master at design, and has an extensive 30-year career in yachting.

Rounding out the crew, are several mid-level technicians who are led by the seniors. Three of them served as crew members and four hold captain’s licenses, which means we know what captains want, need and expect when providing all service calls to any size of vessel.

  5. Who will crew talk to if they call Elite?

Our office manager, Michele Caspari, is a dedicated yachting professional. You can always count on her to answer the phone, be informative, and get right back to you. She’s our representative in the Marina Mile 84 Association.

Once your service has been scheduled, our service manager and senior technicians take over. We stress “communication” as the utmost, highest priority.

  6. Can you help yachts that are not in Ft. Lauderdale?

Yes! Our experienced team is available to be dispatched anywhere in the world at a moment’s notice. Our passports are full of stamps from all over the Caribbean as well as South America.

  7. Where are your main operations?

We are located at 1957 S. Andrews Ave. Suite A in Ft. Lauderdale (33316).
